Hilton Meats Cookstown (HMC) is a dedicated de-boning plant which processes approximately 2000 quarters per week.
Opened in 1989, HMC is based in Northern Ireland’s Mid Ulster and comprises a multi-cultural personnel mix of approximately 80 people. Operating from an ultra modern factory, HMC is purpose-built to meet exacting EC and customer requirements.
The facility de-bones carcases slaughtered in other FFG abattoirs and supplies quality vacuum packed beef primals to major retailers throughout the UK.
A quality control system covers every aspect of the product and comprehensive microbiological testing through an externally accredited laboratory allows us to ensure the highest level of quality and food safety associated with our product.
A fully computerised weighing and despatch system allows product to be traced to the individual batch. Products are fully traceable to the point of origin using the Group’s be-spoke Solomon traceability system.
The Company has a highly skilled multi-national workforce with an ongoing programme of training and development using on site be-spoke training manuals and experienced instructors. In 1999 the Company won a regional National Training Award for its training and development systems.
HMC is a recognised Investor in People and in the year 2000 it was awarded a special regional IIP award in recognition of its commitment to the IIP standard.
As part of the company’s commitment to quality, the plant currently holds the ISO 14001 Environmental Quality Standard certificate, EFSIS (European Food Safety Inspection Services) Grade A standard and is an approved producer of the Assured British Meat standards manual.
