INFORMATION

Foyle Gloucester is seeking a Halal Slaughter Operative to be based at our Cinderford site in the Forest of Dean. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest Red Meat processing Companies in the UK and Ireland.

It is a requirement that the slaughter is performed according to Sharia Law (Islamic Practices), Halal Standard and UK regulations. Your duties will include but not limited to:

• Working in an Abattoir environment in the involvement of the slaughter of cattle
• Cutting, trimming and preparation in the meat production process
• Maintaining Health & Safety, Hygiene and Food quality standards
• Working as a team to ensure the production runs quickly and efficiently
• Complying with all company procedures and codes of practice to ensure a safe and hygienic workplace

The rate paid for this position is £11.94 per hour, with a skills premium applied depending on task undertaken based on throughput daily (which could be £20 per day).

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday.

Full on the job training will be given to the successful applicant.

INFORMATION

Foyle Gloucester is seeking a Despatch Operative to be based at our Cinderford site in the Forest of Dean. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest Red Meat processing Companies in the UK and Ireland.

The successful candidate will be part of a busy despatch team, supporting the day to day running of the Despatch Department, contributing to ensuring that the appropriate documentation is completed and will also assist in ensuring that strict deadlines are met whilst complying with customer specifications, meat quality, hygiene standards and health and safety requirements.

Essential Criteria:
• Previous experience of using Counterbalance FLT, Reach FLT and Shunt vehicle – training to update these licences can be provided
• Ability to cope with manual handling tasks
• A good communicator who takes pride in their work and takes a team-orientated approach to working within a busy environment
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to work within health and safety guidelines
• Flexible approach to working hours

Desirable Criteria:
• Previous experience of working in a despatch environment
• Food hygiene qualification
• Willing to undergo Shunter training, this would require a driving licence

Successful applicants will undertake a 12-month on the job development programme, you will be placed within the production units – Beef Boning Hall, Beef Slaughter Hall, Loading Bay, Further Processing, Red & Green Offal preparation, Dispatch operations. Working closely with the management teams to develop your knowledge of red meat processing. The programme will develop you to become fully equipped with the right skills needed for an exciting career in the Red Meat processing industry.

What you will need to demonstrate

• That you are a committed and ambitious person, having excellent communication skills and a real desire to learn
• A desire to manage teams of people and processes

• A positive attitude, attention to detail and an understanding of how strong management adds value
• A degree / third level qualification in a relevant business, food related or manufacturing discipline
• A current EU driving licence as some travel may be required between our sites / training etc.

Foyle Gloucester requires production operatives to be based in the Boning Hall undertaking packing duties, at our Cinderford site in the Forest of Dean. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest Red Meat processing Companies in the UK and Ireland.

• Ability to undertake manual handling tasks

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience of working in a meat processing plant

Packing Operatives based within the Boning Hall work on a shift system based on a 5-week rota, 10-hour days (excluding breaks), Monday to Friday based on 4 days per week. Start time is 07:15.

The rate paid for this role is £11.94 (based on national living wage plus 50p). Full on the job training will be given to the successful applicants.
