INFORMATION
The Foyle Food Group is looking to employ a Quality Controller within our Retail Packing Facility at the Foyle Ingredients site based in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established food processing Company in the UK and Ireland.
The Quality Control Operative will report directly to the Technical Manager and is responsible for ensuring all developed product meets Customer and Company standards for conformance and food safety standards.
Duties will include but are not restricted to:
• Monitoring product from intake to finished product and reporting any food safety or quality issues e.g. temperature control, fat analysis, weight checks and label verification.
• Record and take corrective actions re: non-conformance reporting to suppliers
• Complete sensory analysis of products in the test kitchen.
• Participate in NPD trials and new product launches.
Hours of operation for the role are currently Monday to Friday, totalling 40 hours per week between 0600 > 1800 during standard operations, with opportunities to undertake additional hours and occasional Saturday work. From 1st April starting rate regardless of age is £10.92 per hour.
Essential Criteria:
• Working knowledge of what is involved in Quality Control Checks
• Strong command of the English Language both verbal and written
• IT Literate
• Good organisation and communication skills
• Ability to work on own initiative with an eye for detail
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment, with a can-do attitude and commitment to safety
• Flexibility towards working hours
Desirable Criteria:
• GCSE Maths & English at Grade C and above or equivalent
• Current Level 2 Food Safety for Manufacturing Certificate
• Previous experience working in a quality / assurance role
• Previous experience or working knowledge of red meat products

INFORMATION

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of most progressive red meat processing groups in the UK and Ireland.
Based at the Group’s Shared Service Centre on the Foyle Omagh site, reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of Product Development within the Group.
Essential Criteria
• Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Food Science / Technology or other relevant discipline
• Relevant industrial NPD experience, preferably in the red meat sector
• Working knowledge of labelling standards, allergen info and food legislation
• Develop and maintain NPD section of quality management system in line with accreditations
• Previous experience taking a new product through development to launch
• Demonstrate knowledge of marketing, customer insight, commercial acumen and operational experience

Foyle Gloucester requires a Technical Manager, to be based at their site in the Forest of Dean. We are seeking a technically qualified candidate who understands the commercial impact of decisions within the business and is able to communicate and interact across all levels within the business. You should be able to demonstrate diplomatic presence to exert influence with operations and will have the flexibility to work within different functions within the business. You must be forward thinking and finished product focused understanding the impact that your actions have on profit. You will be responsible for influencing attitudes to adopt and impose good factory practice.
Key competencies of the candidate to include:
• Experience in managing / supervising technical & quality team
• Experience working in a technical function within a production factory environment
• 3rd Level education or equivalent in food related subject
• Experience in managing and rolling out requirements within quality management system
• Creative approach and a passion for food.
• Either Level 3 or Level 4 in HACCP and Food Safety for Manufacturing.
• Knowledge of BRC and retailer audits.
• Good knowledge of UK food legislation.
• Reliable, flexible and punctual.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative - carry out relevant checks thoroughly, instigate investigations where necessary.
• Experience of responding to customers technical demands, KPI’s and trend analysis.
• Computer literate.
• Conducting internal audits.
• Working with all teams within the company and the third-party teams involved in the day-to-day operation of a production facility.
• Driving Licence and the flexibility to travel.
Desirable competencies:
• Ability to complete quality check on products thought the process and ensures that finished product is to customer specification.
• Continuous improvement experience.
• Experience in leading audits.
• Third country approvals / requirements including Brexit paperwork.
• Train the Trainer qualification.
• Animal Welfare qualification.
