Multi Skilled Engineer

Situated 5 minutes from Derry City, Foyle Donegal requires a Multi-Skilled Engineer working as part of the Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supply, service, maintenance and repair of all equipment within a very busy production site in order for output to be maintained at optimum efficiency. Preference will be given to applicants who are mechanically biased and/or who have extensive experience of refrigeration.

Essential Criteria:

  • ONC in Mechanical Engineering with recognised Apprenticeship
  • Welding experience including welding stainless steel.
  • Relevant Engineering experience within an industrial environment

Knife Control Room Operative

Production Operator

Foyle Proteins require a General Operator to be based at our rendering plant in Campsie, Londonderry. This is an exciting opportunity to join a modern rendering plant in N. Ireland. We are currently looking for a shift operator, the ideal candidate will have a mechanical / engineering background with working knowledge of pumps, motors and filters. Being a rendering plant, the working environment is very warm, and you will be exposed to raw materials such as animal intestines, bones and blood.

The successful candidate will be part of a shift team working a 3 x 8 hour, 24 hr shift pattern from Mon > Sat.

Stores Controller

Foyle Donegal requires a Stores Controller to be based at their Carrigans site in County Donegal. The successful candidate will be part of a busy Production Team and be prepared to work within any area of the business at the direction of Management.  They will be responsible for all aspects within the Stores area ensuring all packaging, consumables, PPE and equipment is available for production when required and to monitor and control the issue of same. Reporting directly to the Stock Control Manager, they will be responsible for managing orders and re-ordering through Navision on a daily basis, processing delivery dockets and forwarding invoices to the relevant personnel.  They will be responsible for the intake of deliveries, maintaining accurate records of all stock and providing good housekeeping throughout amenities and designated areas.  They will be accountable for adhering to a daily work plan, maintaining high standards of hygiene, health & safety for self and others and have the capability to cover for the Stock Control Manager when he is not on site.

Essential Criteria:

  • 1-2 years’ experience working within a high-volume production environment.
  • Ability to fulfil administration requirements of the position and must possess established IT skills with an understanding of Company computer packages e.g. Innova/Navision.
  • Ability to carry out weekly, monthly and annual stock taking ensuring accurate reporting on stock levels within your remit.
  • Proven satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy.

The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and Production Manager, and work closely with Supervisors, Line Leaders and Technical personnel to oversee the day-to-day running of the facility to ensure the on-time delivery of a premium product.

We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast paced, pressurised environment. Working to exacting specifications and targets, getting the best out of both people and equipment within the facility. Hours of operation are currently 6 days a week (Monday – Saturday) and the successful candidate will work 5 days out of 6, Sunday work will be operational in the future. Hours of work – during standard operations are between 06.30am > 5.30pm and when evening shift is in place (commencing end of March, Mon – Fri) hours of work between 10.00am > 12.30am.

Quality Control Operative

The Foyle Food Group is looking to employ an additional Quality Control Operative within our state of the art Retail Packing Facility at the Foyle Ingredients site based in Omagh, Co. Tyrone. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established food processing Company in the UK and Ireland.

The Quality Control Operative will report directly to the Technical Manager and are responsible for ensuring all developed product meets Customer and Company standards for conformance and food safety standards.

Duties will include but are not restricted to:

  • Monitoring product from intake to finished product and reporting any food safety or quality issues e.g. temperature control, fat analysis, weight checks and label verification.
  • Record and take corrective actions re: non-conformance reporting to suppliers
  • Complete sensory analysis of products in the test kitchen.
  • Participate in NPD trials and New product launches.

Hours of operation for the role are currently Monday to Saturday (working 5 days from 6) totalling 40 hours per week between 0600 > 1730 during standard operations, when Evening Shift is in place (commencing end of March, Mon-Fri) hours of work between 1600 > 0200, with opportunities to undertake additional hours. We pay all QC operatives £9.22 per hour (NLW currently £8.72 + £0.50 premium bonus), and an additional premium for hours worked on Evening Shift.

  • GCSE Maths & English at Grade C and above or equivalent

  • Maintain the effective and efficient running of the production line.

Hours of operation for this role are currently Monday to Saturday (working 5 days from 6) totalling 40 hours per week between 0600 > 1730 during standard operations, when Evening Shift is in place hours of work between 1600 > 0200, with opportunities to undertake additional hours. We pay operators, off all ages the UK National Living Wage, currently £8.72 with an additional premium for hours worked on Evening Shift.
