Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Locations: Foyle Gloucester
Closing Date: 02/10/2020

Foyle Gloucester requires a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (electrically biased) to be based at their Cinderford site. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established food processing group. The successful candidate will be part of the Foyle Gloucester Maintenance team, assisting in the day-to-day and preventative maintenance programmes and assisting with ad-hoc maintenance activities on the Foyle Gloucester site.

Essential Criteria:

  • A can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills are essential
  • Experience working on and maintaining equipment and machinery
  • Flexible / team worker
  • A sound understanding of Health and Safety standards is essential

Desirable Criteria:

  • 18th Edition electrical certification
  • Electrical testing and inspection experience
  • Electrical apprenticeship completed
  • Experience with three phase motors
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Previous hydraulics and pneumatics experience
  • Previous refrigeration experience
  • Previous welding experience

Starting basic annual wage for this position is £30,000, upon successful completion of probationary period this will rise to £32,000, overtime in this role is payable, along with callouts and being on standby.

Human Resource / Health & Safety Development Role

The Foyle Food Group is actively seeking applications from individuals interested in pursuing a career in Human Resources and Health and Safety within the Red Meat Processing Industry – this role will be based at our Foyle Melton Mowbray site at Six Hills approx… 10 miles from Melton Mowbray, Leicester and Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity develop the skills and knowledge to effectively manage all aspects of Human Resources and Health & Safety in a red meat slaughter plant with one of the most progressive beef processing groups in the UK and Ireland.

 

This is a full-time role, with the successful applicant undertaking an 18 – month structured training and development program.

 

  • Relevant management training that will expose you to all aspects of the business
  • On-the-job training within the production environment to enable you to understand the core principles of our business. You will have exposure to all aspects of the process within a modern, busy red meat processing environment
  • Coaching and mentoring of various Human Resource and Safety Management knowledge / skills
  • Working within a team with real responsibilitiesWhat you need to demonstrate:
  • That you are a committed and ambitious person, with excellent communication skills and have a desire to learn
  • An interest in the red meat industry is essential; our team takes a hands-on role in the business
  • 3rd level education in a related discipline / 2 years relative experience
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, IT and administrative skills
  • A positive attitude, attention to detail and an understanding of how management adds value
  • You must have a current UK driving license as you may be required to travel between sites

General Operatives

Locations: Foyle Omagh

The Foyle Food Group requires General Operatives to be based at their site on the outskirts of Omagh, County Tyrone. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of most progressive beef processing groups in the UK and Ireland.

You will be provided with training to enable you to become a fully skilled member of the team, de-boning, trimming, packing, slaughtering, operating machinery and carrying out general production work. The successful candidate will be part of a busy (department) team.

General Operatives - Knife Team

Locations: Foyle Omagh

Foyle Omagh requires Semi-Skilled and Skilled General Operatives (as part of the knife team) to be based at their site on the outskirts of Omagh, County Tyrone. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established food processing company.

The successful candidates will be part of a boning and trimming team.

Beef Boning Hall – Hrs of work – 4 x 10 hour shifts each week with a rotating day off – 4-day weekend every 5 weeks.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experienced at boning or trimming meat
  • Experience of working with knifes
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to work in a tidy and safe manner
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • A good attitude towards Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience of working in a meat processing plant
  • Current Level 2 Food Safety for Manufacturing Certificate

Production Operative

Locations: Foyle Proteins
Closing Date: 11/10/2020

    Foyle Proteins require a General Operator to be based at our rendering plant in Campsie, Londonderry. This is an exciting opportunity to join a modern rendering plant in N. Ireland. We are currently looking for a shift operator, the ideal candidate will have a mechanical / engineering background with working knowledge of pumps, motors and filters. Being a rendering plant, the working environment is very warm, and you will be exposed to raw materials such as animal intestines, bones and blood.

    The successful candidate will be part of a shift team working a 3 x 8 hour, 24 hr shift pattern from Mon > Sat.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Ability to work on own initiative in a safe manner
    • Effective team operator
    • Medically fit and in good health
    • Availability to work flexible shift patterns
    • Have a mechanical / engineering knowledge / background

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Previous experience of working shifts
    • Previous rendering plant experience
    • Fork truck license

    Salary scale: Based on previous experience increasing to £10.53 after completing a 3-year training programme.

    Production Operatives

    Locations: Foyle Gloucester

    Foyle Gloucester requires operatives to join our production teams. The roles available are within our Boning Hall, Loading Bay and Slaughter Hall Departments. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established food processing group.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Willing to learn new skills where appropriate
    • Ability to work effectively within a team
    • Ability to work in a safe and tidy manner
    • Flexible approach to working hours
    • A good attitude toward Health and Safety

    Operatives for the Boning Hall work on a shift system based on 5-week rota, 10-hour days (excluding breaks) Monday to Friday based on 4 days per week. Start times are 07:00 (butchery) and 07:15 (packing).

    Operatives for the Loading Bay work Monday to Friday commencing at 06:00 each day.

    Operatives for the Slaughter Hall work Monday to Friday commencing at various times between 07:00 and 07:30 depending on work undertaken.

    A minimum of National Living Wage is paid – including those aged below 25 years.

    Full training will be given to successful applicants to enable them to reach their full potential.
